Tour of Our Home

You all know how I love design, so I thought I'd give you a peek into our home. Most of these rooms are not completely done, but we're getting closer and closer.

The first room is our dining room/front room combo. We're still working on finding a chair and ottoman for the corner, but otherwise this room is dunzo. We recently just painted our entire middle floor, and we decided to go with a charcoal accent wall to give the dining area it's own feel.

This sofa table took us forever to find! We wanted something modern and affordable. This proved to be a harder task than we thought. After months of looking we both agreed this was a great piece for our front room.

Everything on the shelves is from TJ Maxx with the exception of the "J". That was from Hobby Lobby (I spray painted it white). The shelves themselves are from West Elm, which I ended up getting for a steal because they messed up the shipping (hey, I'll take it!).

The lamp is from TJ Maxx and the tray is from Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM - you'll probably see this many times throughout the post).

I made the moss balls. I really wanted a large and medium size cobblestone moss ball, but I just couldn't find an affordable option anywhere. So I made them with styrofoam balls and stones covered in moss from the Dollar Tree.

This is our charcoal accent wall. To the right of the sofa table is where we're putting a chair and ottoman (once we find them).

Anyway the table is from NFM and the rug is from Overstock.com. The canvas is from Home Goods and it is one of my favorite things in the entire house. The charcoal curtains are from JC Penney, which we got for a steal!

Here you can see the place settings, which are from target. I got them around Christmas time and I love the fact that they have a little shimmer to them.

Notice the plain, white slab door in the background. I'm planning on sprucing these babies up with molding this summer.

This centerpiece is from Gordmans. We got it for super cheap. It was an ugly gold thing when we bought it, but nothing a little spray paint can't fix! Tip: Spray painting old home accents white can give them a modern look. Future hubs thinks I'm a freak and teases me about it all the time. We'll be out shopping and he'll pick an item up and ask, "Spray paint?"

Next we have our living room. This is where I spend most of my time when the little one is asleep. Hint: The reason she only has a small basket full of toys (Target). We're usually downstairs in the man cave where there are toys galore!

Before and After...Yikes!
My fiancé is so great, he basically let me do whatever I wanted in this room.

I reaaaaally wanted it to be plum. I don't know, something just draws me to the color plum. Anyway, we once again finally found an end table that we both loved and that was affordable (Amazon).

The rug is from JC Penney, where I got a crazy deal on it before Christmas. Curtains are Bed Bath and Beyond. I can't even explain how much trouble I had finding plum curtains that I loved! The throw is from TJ Maxx and the throw pillows, couch, and chair are from NFM. The accents are all from TJ Maxx (have I mentioned that I love TJ Maxx/Home Goods?!?!).

We are still trying to find a painting for the wall (I'm kind of in love with abstract art) and we want to replace the floor lamp soon. It's only a matter of time before we find something we both like....

Another favorite piece of mine is our TV stand! I found this at NFM for half price and guess what? He loved it just as much as I did! It gives me a mid-century/asian/modern vibe (hehe) and I just love it.

Above you can see the before and after from the kitchen. We still have some painting to do, but not until we get new countertops. I used a kit to redo the cabinets, which you can find here.

Next, we have the guest bedroom. I made this DIY sunburst mirror, because frankly, it was going to be too expensive to buy! The lamps, table, and bed were all things we had. The bedding is from Younkers.

If I had to change anything in our house, it would be the bedding. It's not that I don't like it, because I love it. I just wish I wasn't so lazy and that I would've pulled different pieces from here and there. It gives me a more personalized feel, but I definitely still love ours!

The last room I am going to show you is our bedroom. This was the first room that we did, and you can definitely see how our style has changed. But we still love it! The furniture is all from NFM. The canvas and vase are from Gordmans and our bedding is from JC Penney. You might notice that we have no curtains. All of our bedrooms have  black out blinds, so they're not a must right now. But it's def on our to do list!

We have two other bedrooms (second guest bedroom and Tood's room). I'm saving the big reveal of her room until a later post. But I did finish some artwork for it last night! DIY Sequin art, cost me a whopping $2! The tutorial can be found here.

I'm soooo excited to put it together and I can't wait to show you guys!

If you want to know how I made anything, don't hesitate to ask me in the comment section. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to pin anything you like!
